Hennadii O. Strelnykov is the Head of the department of thermogas dynamics of power plants (since 2018), DSc., (1994), professor (2011).
He graduated from Kharkiv Aviation Institute (1962), specializing in “Aircraft Engines”, qualification – mechanical engineer. From 1962 to 1973 he worked at the “Yuzhnoye” State Design Office, in 1973 he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk branch of the Institute of Patent Science, in 1974 he was a senior researcher, (1978-1986) he was the scientific secretary of the Institute of Technical Mechanics, and in 1983 – received the academic title of senior researcher, 1986 – head of the laboratory of the department, 1996 – leading researcher, (2002 – 2007) – worked part-time at Oles Honchar Dnepropetrovsk National University.
He performed his main work in the field of rocket engine construction, thermal power engineering, gas dynamics and heat-and-mass transfer. A number of fundamental and applied scientific results and new technical solutions have been obtained for the creation of new executive bodies of the rocket flight control system, which are based on the regulation of the thrust vector of the rocket engine by injecting into the supersonic flow of the nozzle of fuel components or combustion products; he studies the fundamental mechanisms of excitation of supersonic flow by discrete and distributed sources of mass and heat, liquid and gas jets, solid obstacles; he is engaged in research on creation of new configurations of supersonic nozzles of rocket engines, improvement of a thrust vector control system of the rocket engine; he developed scientific bases, theory and a number of new technical solutions for active and passive control of high-enthalpy gas flows; he developed and conducted experimental studies of fundamentally new jet engines with controlled detonation combustion of solid fuels. He received a number of important results for science and practice in the field of thermal power, which allowed to develop new technologies for combustion of low-grade coal, including gas-dynamic transportation of ash and slag waste, new methods and devices for burning gaseous, liquid and solid fuels in pulsating combustion.
He is the author and co-author of 160 scientific publications and inventions, 2 monographs, 1 textbook.
He participated in the examination of master’s programs in № 134 “Aerospace Engineering”, Kharkiv, Aerospace National University on 17-19/12/2018
He is a member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Technical Mechanics and since 2019 – a member of the Specialized Council of Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University.
