Description

The experimental setup is intended to study the strength and durability of structural materials under combined energy loading, which includes:

  • compressive loads;
  • tensile loads;
  • induction heating;
  • ohmic heating;
  • electromagnetic oscillations;
  • shock ultrasonic oscillations.

The setup is equipped with computer-aided measuring systems. The plastic deformation behavior is assessed using acoustic emission and internal pressure measurement methods.

Capabilities

The setup makes it possible to determine the short- and the long-time strength, to conduct thermocyclic tests, and to measure material characteristics (internal friction and heat conductivity).

Advantages

The setup provides:

  • combined energy loading to intensify treatment processes that trigger self-organizing processes in structural materials (Ukrainian patents No 46841 of 11.01.2010 and No 56740 of 25.01.2011);
  • computer-aided load and temperature control;
  • acoustic emission monitoring of deformation processes.

Use

Development of technologies for strengthening structural materials and their welded joints and increasing the durability of structural materials using the synergetic approach.
