Experimental vacuum-plasma complex

Department of functional elements of control systems

Acting head of department – PhD. Petro I. Zabolotny

Purpose:

  • study of working processes in various plasma devices;
  • tryout of ion-plasma treatment processes;
  • deposition of decorative and functional, single-layer, multilayer, and nanostructured coatings of various compositions and purposes onto outer and inner working surfaces.

Equipment:

  • high-capacity high-vacuum evacuation unit;
  • vacuum chambers:
Vacuum chamber ” Big Puma”
Vacuum chamber “Small Puma”

Vacuum chamber ” Big Puma” and “Small Puma” in experimental vacuum-plasma complex

  • 1m³(Big Puma)- horizontal, water-cooled;
  • 0.07 m³(Small Puma)- vertical, water-cooled;
  • 0.045 m³ and 0.025 m³ – vertical, uncooled;
  • vacuum-arc plasma process devices and closed electron drift devices (energetic gas ion generators and magnetron sputterers);
  • plasma device power sources;
  • vacuum feed-throughs to provide the rotational and reciprocal movement of the plasma devices and workpieces;
  • power supply, cooling water, and working gas vacuum feed-throughs;
  • instrumentation.
