Description
The pneumatic transport bench is an assemblage of circulation units, solid phase (bulk material) loading, unloading, and reloading units, and a compressed gas source, which are functionally integrated by pipelines, instruments, and control means; the bench serves to reproduce a gas or two-phase mixture flow whose parameters correspond to those of the pneumatic transport system under development.
Key specifications
Working pressure | 0.1 to 3.3 MPa |
Power consumption | 30 kW |
Total length of the linear portion | up to 70 m |
Measuring pipeline diameters | 30 and 50 mm |
Flow speed | up to 45 m/s |
Solid particle size | up to 10 mm |
Solid phase volume concentration | up to 15% |
Charging material volume | up to 30 liters |
Cooling | water |
Instrumentation | Venturi tube, measuring orifice plate, Sapfir 22DD differential pressure pickups, TSM 0879 temperature transducers, DDI-20 pressure transducer |
Capabilities
The pneumatic transport bench is fitted with equipment, control means, and instruments that make possible the following types of operation:
- solid phase and carrier gas closed-circuit operation;
- gas closed-circuit and solid phase open-circuit operation;
- solid phase closed-circuit and gas open-circuit operation;
- solid phase and gas closed-circuit two-loop operation;
- solid phase and gas closed-circuit single-loop operation.
Advantages
In the level of working pressure, the bench has no parallel both in Ukraine and abroad.
Use
In the design of increased-haul pneumatic transport systems for the determination of the hydraulic characteristics of gas – solid particles two-phase flows in an uninvestigated carrier gas pressure range: hydraulic resistance, critical speed and dancing speed, specific power consumption, and allowable particle size.
